Net Zero Delivery Body (NZDB) Established

Following on from the publication of Gibraltar’s Climate Change Strategy in 2021 and the first meeting of the Climate Change Committee (CCC) in early 2022, the Net Zero Delivery Body (NZDB) (designed to guide implementation of the strategy, and support Gibraltar’s journey to meeting its climate targets) held its first meeting in July 2022. The meeting was held virtually, and chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia. This meeting saw members of the NZDB respond the first set of recommendations made by the CCC, and also saw draft regulations establishing the NZDB approved.

The NZDB also agreed to establish three priority working groups, which will be set targets intended to further implementation in the following priority areas:

• Electric vehicle infrastructure development
• Cross-government data and reporting processes
• Renewable energy generation
